FAA chooses 4 for $1.4B air traffic control support contract
Each awardee is assigned certain geographic areas and each award has a different ceiling value.
The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded four companies positions on a potential seven-year, $1.44 billion contract for air traffic control support services in the U.S. and some of its territories.
CI2 Aviation, Midwest Air Traffic Control Services, Robinson Aviation and Serco’s North American subsidiary are assigned individual areas, which are based on geographic region with differing ceiling values for each company.
The FAA awarded this fourth iteration of its Contract Tower Program on Wednesday, while solicitation documents first posted in January include this map of the geographic areas of assignment.
Each contract has an initial base period of 14 months, followed by up to six option years.
CI2 Aviation was assigned Area 2 and is eligible for up to $142.6 million in contract work.
Midwest Air Traffic Control Services secured the contracts for Areas 1, 4 and 5 at a combined ceiling of $518.2 million.
Robinson Aviation won the contracts for Area 3, 6, 8 and 10 that are worth up to $597.2 billion altogether.
Serco Inc. is assigned Areas 7 and 9 with a potential $182.9 million collective value.
