Air Force chooses 14 for $220M geospatial support contract
Air Force leaders sought a pool of contractors to help facilitate enhanced and shared situational awareness.
The Air Force has awarded 14 companies positions on a six-year, $220 million contract for enterprise-wide geospatial support services.
Air Force leaders sought a pool of contractors to help facilitate enhanced and shared situational awareness both in the service branch itself and across the military.
Other agencies outside the Defense Department can place orders against the Geospatial Support and Services 2. 0 contract as well, the Pentagon said in its Wednesday awards digest.
GS&S 2.0 is intended primarily to function as a portfolio management approach for the Air Force's geospatial capabilities and how the service branch shares those resources with its mission partners.
Companies on the contract will also work with the Air Force to fulfill IT requirements, develop applications and assess systems that collect geospatial information.
